Fabric types:

• Cotton is natural, soft, breathable, and a comfortable, cool, choice of work shirt in warm environments. Good for sensitive skin but may shrink and wear faster.

• Polyester is synthetic and offers durability with fast drying properties in sweaty or wet environments. Not as cool as cotton but is colourfast so less likely to fade.

• Poly/cotton blends combine comfort and durability, and offer a good balance of breathability and strength.

GSM (grams per square metre):

The lower the GSM, the lighter and more breathable the fabric is.

• Lower GSM (~140-160) light and breathable.

• Midweight (~180-200 GSM) versatile and suits everyday tradie use.

• Higher GSM (200+) heavy duty, tough, and long wearing.

Breathability vs Heavy-Duty 

• Lightweight fabrics have better breathability and suit warm environments with high activity levels.
