How to Order Custom Apparel and Merch
Ordering custom apparel with The Colour Cartel is simple and flexible. Whether you’re ordering printed t-shirts, embroidered workwear, or branded merch, you can choose the approach that suits your project best.
There are two ways to place an order with The Colour Cartel. If you know exactly what you want, ordering through our website is the quickest option. If you’d rather talk it through or need something a little more custom, our team is happy to help.

Ordering Directly Through Our Website
Best if you’re ready to go and know exactly what you want.
The quickest way to place a standard apparel order
If you already know which products you want and how you’d like them printed, ordering through our website is the most efficient option. You’ll be guided step by step to select your print method, print location, colours, sizes, and upload your artwork.
This option works best for standard apparel orders such as printed t-shirts, hoodies, or embroidered garments, where you’re happy to choose from the available options online.
Once your order is placed, we’ll prepare a digital proof and send it through for approval before production begins. Here's how it works:
Choose Your Product
Head to the product you want and select Add Custom Options or Buy Custom.
Select Your Print Method
Choose your preferred print method by selecting the relevant icon:
- Screen Printing (1 to 12 colours)
- Digital Print (Unlimited Colours)
- Embroidery (1 to 12 colours)
For screen printing and embroidery, you will then be prompted to enter the number of colours in your design.
Choose Your Print Location
Select where the print will appear on the garment.
If you need more than one print, you can add additional prints in the next step.
Add Additional Prints (if required)
If you need more than one print, such as a front and back design, click Add Additional Print. You can add as many print locations as needed.
For each additional print, you’ll repeat the print method and print location steps.
Add Retail Finishes (if required)
Add finishing touches to your apparel by selecting the desired options. Retail finishes, such as custom neck labels and swing tags, are great for adding a professional finish, particularly for apparel brands.
Add Notes
If you have any special requests or details you’d like us to know, use Add Notes.
This step is optional. We’ll always provide a digital proof for approval before anything goes to print.
Select Colours & Sizes
Choose your garment colours and size quantities.
Minimum order requirements may apply for some print methods, such as screen printing and embroidery. These are listed on the product page. You can add multiple colours with the same design by:
- Selecting your first colour and sizes
- Adding to cart
- Repeating the process for the next colour
Upload Your Artwork
Upload your artwork so we can begin the proofing process. Each print location requires an artwork file, even if the design is the same. To upload your files:
- Open your cart using the shopping bag icon
- Select Click to Upload File
- Upload the relevant artwork for each print location
Once your artwork is received, we’ll prepare a digital proof for your approval before production begins.
Checkout
Once your order is placed and artwork is received, we’ll send you a digital proof via email. Production won’t begin until you’ve approved this proof.
If artwork is missing or incorrect, we’ll contact you before proofing.
